EPA Community Responses to Human Health Threats

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for Community Responses to Human Health Threats from Climate Change in Urban Areas. Work shall include identification of how local decision-makers respond to change, including acute events; what decision-makers view as their vulnerabilities to climate change; development of an evidence-based set of social indicators for climate vulnerability; creation of an in-depth assessment of what constitutes vulnerability, including measures of social capital, social networks, social capacity, education, and awareness of risks; measurement of the effectiveness of outreach and public education measures regarding risks; and assessment of the effects of new programs by local and federal programs.
