On Monday, C. Reid Nichols President of Marine Information Resources Corporation (MIRC) gave a presentation regarding collaboration opportunities between MIRC and UNO.  I believe we can develop a strong interaction.

During the presentation he mentioned the STEM BAA that has recently been released.  The Office of Naval Research (ONR) will fund  The purpose of this announcement is to receive proposals in support of the Office of Naval Research’s mission of scientific outreach and education in working to develop the next generation of scientists capable of providing support to the continued development of critical technologies in support of the Department of Defense.  This is an excellent chance to fund innovative programs to educate K-12 or college students in STEM disciplines. The period of performance of the awards ranges from twelve to thirty-six months. ONR plans to fund individual awards up to $200,000 per year. However, they indicate that cost proposals for larger amounts will be considered, when appropriate.  I will be working with several departments to develop STEM proposals in response to this BAA.  If you are interested please contact me.
