By Admin (on 1/11/2011 @ 15:39:07, in Workshops, read 1927 times)

The grant writing seminar, Writing Winning Grants, will be conducted by Peg AtKisson on March 25, 2011 at Xavier University and will emphasize such topics as idea development, identification of the most appropriate granting agency, how to write for reviewers, and tips and strategies that are of proven value in presenting an applicant's case to reviewers.  This seminar will be focused on NIH grants, however the components will apply to several granting agencies.  The seminar is co-hosted by Xavier’s Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI), Xavier’s Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC), Xavier’s Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and FASEB MARC.  For more information on the seminar, please see the 11/30/10 post on the Research blog (http://orsp.uno.edu/dblog/pubblicazioni.asp?d=20101130).  The Office of Research will pay the $80 fee for full-time UNO faculty or those who meet the definition of a Principal Investigator (see attached IMD 85.003).

Please click this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/wwgatxu and complete the registration for the grant writing seminar.  All faculty and staff who plan on attending must register through this link; seminar materials will be ordered from the list that is generated through the registration survey.  Please register as soon as possible.  If you have not already informed Carol Lunn of your intention to attend the seminar, please contact her (clunn1@uno.edu) so we can keep a list of the UNO personnel attending the seminar.

If you are interested in the Phase 2 of the Seminar (individualized assistance in writing your proposal), please contact Carol Mitton (cmitton@uno.edu) before January 28th.  The cost of this phase is $3,475 per person and it will NOT be paid by the Office of Research.  You must find another source to cover the cost.

More information will be provided to the registered attendees as it becomes available.

This email was sent to all faculty and staff.
