Oceans in Action Business Matchmaking Opportunities 2014
By Admin (on 7/14/2014 @ 16:29:30, in Workshops, read 1096 times)

On August 21st, the Mississippi Enterprise for Technology (MSET) will be hosting business matchmaking sessions at the Marine Technology Society's Oceans In Action Workshop. Oceans In Action focuses on the accomplishments of the government agencies, universities, and other industry organizations within the Gulf South region, featuring how marine technology is applied to real-world issues. Matchmaking "anchors" will be those Federal agencies and large prime contractors involved in marine technology in and around Stennis.

Who should participate in these free matchmaking sessions?

  • Small companies looking for business supplying marine products or services to local agencies and prime contractors
  • Organizations looking to expand their business in any aspect of marine technology
  • Providers of marine supplies, equipment, or related products and services
  • Individuals looking to license and commercialize patented marine-related technologies
  • Businesses interested in learning more about partnering with Canadian companies for export opportunities
One-on-one matchmaking meetings will begin at 3:00pm on August 21st in the atrium of Building 1100. Register below to select agency and prime contractor representatives to meet with. Brief descriptions of these organizations can be found below.

Meeting times are limited and will be assigned based on a first-come/first-serve basis. The deadline to schedule your meeting in advance is August 15th. After that date, meetings can be scheduled at the workshop, provided appointments are still available. Once the advanced meetings have been assigned, you will receive an email confirming your scheduled meeting(s). Depending on the requests received for each organization, the duration of these meetings may vary. The estimated time allotted for each meeting will be 10 minutes.

Registration in business matchmaking is free; however, does not include participation in the Oceans In Action workshop itself. To register for the Oceans In Action workshop visit the Marine Technology Society website (www.mtsociety.org).

Matchmaking anchors available at this event are:

  • A2Research
  • Canadian Consulate General in Atlanta: Trade Commissioner Service/Ocean Networks Canada
  • General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT)
  • Ingalls Shipbuilding - A Division of Huntington-Ingalls Industries
