SBIR “Road Tour” event which is coming to Louisiana April 20th of this year. This is going to be a very special one-of-a-kind SBIR-STTR Program, which we only do once every 2-3 years. Our office, in conjunction with the U.S. SBA Office of Innovation is organizing this event which will bring numerous SBIR-STTR program managers from the various federal agencies into Louisiana to provide update briefings and to meet with attendees one-on-one (reservations made in-advance and limited to time available). Because of the nature of this event, and since the federal portion is only slightly more than ½ day, we are working with several co-sponsors to hold other SBIR-STTR sessions prior to and after the Road Tour portion that you can take advantage of. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sbir-road-tour-tickets-43328185770

We are pleased to announce that a revised version of the NSF Grants.gov Application Guide has been issued. The NSF Grants.gov Application Guide has been updated to align with changes to NSF’s Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 18-1). Information about FastLane system registration has been removed and replaced with guidance for registering in Research.gov. Editorial changes have also been made to either clarify or enhance the intended meaning of a sentence or section or to ensure consistency with data contained in NSF systems or other NSF policy documents. The new NSF Grants.gov Application Guide will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after January 29, 2018. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact the Policy Office on (703) 292-8243 or by e-mail to policy@nsf.gov. For technical questions relating to Grants.gov, please contact Grants.gov directly at 1-800-518-4726 or support@grants.gov.

The NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) is the portal for receipt and referral of NIH grant applications, and, for the majority of those applications, carries out the peer review process for assessing scientific and technical merit. In October, CSR will host two “online briefings” on peer review focused on the Academic Research Enhancement AREA/R15 program, and NIH small business (SBIR/STTR) programs. The briefings will be approximately one hour long, including a 30 minute question and answer period. For more information and to register for each webinar, visit the CSR event website:http://public.csr.nih.gov/Pages/csrwebinar.aspx
